What We Don't Treat

We treat several types of Anxiety & Depression. We do not treat Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, or Schizophrenia. Also, we cannot prescribe controlled substances (i.e. Xanax, Lorazepam, amphetamines).

NDRI

Bupropion is a drug used to treat depression and certain other disorders. It is also used to help people stop smoking. Bupropion hydrochloride increases the levels of the chemicals dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine in the brain. This helps improve mood and can lessen cravings for nicotine. It is a type of antidepressant and a type of nicotine receptor antagonist. Also called Wellbutrin and Zyban.

Tetracyclic

Tricyclic antidepressant and tetracyclic antidepressant: Cyclic antidepressants block the reabsorption (reuptake) of the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain.   • Be observant: Maintain a worksheet of your triggers and coping strategies for depression.
  • Get regular exercise: Exercise can help with treatment for depression and anxiety.
  • Eat a healthy diet that includes these food groups: Vegetables, organ meats, fruits, seafood, legumes, meats, grains, nuts & seeds, and dairy.
  • Try a relaxing activity for example exploring relaxation or wellness programs, which may incorporate yoga, meditation, or breathing exercises. Schedule routine times for these activities. We've partnered with Meditopia, a meditation and mental coach platform that offers 1 month free of deep-dive programs to help with self-compassion, anxiety, stress and more.
  • Stay connected. You are not alone. Keep in touch with friends and family who can provide emotional support and practical help. Join support groups of like minded people.

Additional visits are available at a special rate of $19/visit. Please note that access to our weight loss, diabetes, and mental health services are not included with this level of Alpha Membership.

Alpha Membership Plus, $64/month, includes: access to care for over 100 eligible medical conditions (including weight loss, diabetes, and mental health services) and four visits per month on flexible, month-to-month commitment. Additional visits are available at a special rate of $19/visit.

Membership fees do not include the cost of medication or labs.

Why is there a monthly charge for Alpha Membership Plus?

Does Alpha provide talk therapy?

Can I get my medications through Alpha if I have already been diagnosed elsewhere?

What medications can you prescribe?

The most common treatments we offer are: SSRI, SNRI and Wellbutrin(buproprion). We cannot prescribe controlled substances like benzodiazepines and amphentamines

What happens if I stop taking my medication?

If you plan to discontinue medication(s) for your mental health, I recommend that you slowly decrease the dose of your medication(s) before stopping to minimize the risk of discontinuation syndrome and relapse of depression and/or anxiety symptoms.
